Deep Dish Shrimp Scampi Pizza

Ingredients

  • 2 Pizza doughs
  • 1/2 Pound of large raw shrimp
  • 4 – 5 Garlic cloves, garlic powder optional addition
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 teaspoons of capers
  • One cup of CAVIT, Pinot Grigio wine
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Place 2 pizza doughs Into a lasagna pan that has been coated with olive oil.
  • Rub a little olive oil on the outside edges of the dough to form a crust then take half of a garlic clove And rub over the outside oiled edges.
  • Let it rest and bring dough to room temperature.
  • To make the topping:
  • Sauté 5-6 cloves of finely chopped garlic in 2 tablespoons of olive oil until golden.
  • Add 8 tablespoons of butter, 2 teaspoons of capers, and two cups of CAVIT pinot Grigio wine.
  • Cook for three minutes to reduce.
  • Add your cleaned and cut up shrimp to this mixture and sauté for one minute then remove from heat.
  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Pour the reduced liquid and shrimp over the dough and bake for 20 to 25 minutes depending on your oven.
  • If you like a heavy garlic taste, you can sprinkle garlic powder on top of the pizza’s edges.
  • Bottom crust should be dark golden when fully cooked.
