Smoky Bacon and Caramelized Onion Pizza with Goat Cheese and Arugula
Ingredients
1 pound pizza dough
4 strips of bacon, diced
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 ounces goat cheese
1 cup arugula
1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 450°F.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, stirring occasionally, for about 20-25 minutes.
Roll out the pizza dough and place on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
Brush the olive oil over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
Sprinkle the bacon and caramelized onions over the pizza dough.
Crumble the goat cheese and distribute it over the pizza.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the pizza from the oven and top with arugula and balsamic glaze.
